GRIPD wasn’t started just because the environment needs it, no, GRIPD was started because I didn’t want to defile my lovely new surfboard by covering it with wax!

I thought there must be a better alternative. Something that does the same job but keeps your board looking nice and new… AND doesn’t add to the micro-plastic problem… something that will help me “do my bit”.

Well, there wasn’t, so after a load of research and development, trial and error, we started GRIPD.

Free from phthalates, plasticisers and PVC’s, GRIPD is an elastomeric polymer that will not break-down and pollute the environment and the backing is made from PET so widely recycled.

We then turned our attention to the packaging. There’s not much point trying to make a more eco-friendly product then wrap it up in plastic or in a box that can’t be recycled, so we were pretty stoked to be able to produce a carbon balanced box.

The carboard used in the production of the boxes is recycled and the inks are vegetable oil-based.

We will continue to improve our processes, our materials and products as there is always more that can be done….but change has to start somewhere.

All this, means that you have a choice. You can choose to help the environment, you can choose to “do your bit”……and you can choose to have a clean board!
